July / August Update – Neil Jarvie Photography

July / August Update – Neil Jarvie Photography

Long time no see! The last few months have been really busy for me, and I have the photos to prove it this time. I thought I’d do a quick catch up post to get me back into the swing of things, and also to give everyone a glance at some shots that I’ll follow-up with some more detailed posts in the coming weeks. So, let’s get started! I feel that I need to point out that, as I write this, I need to have my diary out in front of me because my memory is so bad that I can’t remember the order of my travels within the last month and a half.

Early July – North Coast 500

At the start of July, I dusted off the old tiny tent and spent 6 days doing the 500 miles of the North Coast 500 in Scotland. Needless to say, the tent had to get upgraded at some point, but that’s definitely a story for a future blog post. The whole route has some amazing sights and, if you get the weather for it, the white sand beaches can look Caribbean! Here’s a couple of shots taken on the first day of our adventure.

Mid July – Lisbon

From camping in the highlands to the scorching sun and constant uphill travelling of Lisbon, Portugal. Unlike our usually cold Nordic holidays, my girlfriend and I decided to get some sun for once. Lisbon is a beautiful and vibrant city, and an ideal setting for taking a compact Fuji X-Pro1 for some street photography. Highlights include: Foxtrot (a bar with a doorbell), Pena Palace in Sintra, and the Christ the King statue in Almada. I can’t wait to share some more photos from this trip (mainly because I’ve still not had a chance to look at them myself yet), but for now here’s a couple of snaps from a walk around Lisbon.

End of July – ArnoCorps UK Tour 2017

Straight off the bat from returning to Lisbon, I was on another flight down to London to meet up with ArnoCorps for the 4th time since 2012. The tour was as intense and crazy as it always is, and it’s always so good to meet up with both old and new faces throughout the two-week tour. We started off in Cardiff and went all the way around the UK and Ireland and ended up back where we met up in London for a chaotic show at the London Underworld. This year, I decided to take a little more video, so hopefully I can get round to editing through that sometime soon. Here’s a couple of shots from the final show in London.

Early August – Arisaig

Just before the school holidays came to an end, I took the tent once more out of the cupboard and headed up to Arisaig for a couple of night. We really lucked out with the weather and managed to see some really beautiful sunsets on the beach.

That’s pretty much the July/August chaos in one quick post. The last few weeks have been spent catching up with editing and working on a wedding website. It feels good to be back into some kind of routine at the studio again, which also means I’ll be able to blog a little more frequently for the time being. I’m sure you’re all excited about that!
